One week until 30, and I think I’m only now starting to understand what people mean when they say “the journey is the destination”. For most of my life, I was always chasing the next bigger goal. Finish school. Get the Bachelor’s degree. Then the Master’s. Then the next project, the next opportunity, the next milestone. And every single time I reached one of those goals, the feeling was almost immediately replaced with: “Okay… and now what?”

I kept thinking that at some point there would be this feeling of finally having arrived. But I’m starting to believe that “arriving” is mostly an illusion. There is always another level to unlock, another goal to chase, another version of success waiting somewhere further ahead.

What changed my perspective recently was hearing the sentence: “Your everyday life is their childhood.” Somehow that hit me harder than all the productivity quotes ever did. It made me realise how easy it is to miss the life you already have while constantly focusing on the next thing.

This year I already said no to several opportunities I once would have admired from a distance. I realised I enjoy what I do most when it comes from curiosity and passion, not pressure. And that’s a pretty good place to be.

Maybe growing up is realising that life is not permanently building toward some future moment where everything finally starts. Maybe this already is the moment.

Feeling very grateful for the people around me, for all the support, the travels, the unexpected side quests, and the everyday moments. Funny enough, those are probably the moments that mattered most.
